Forward-thinking company taps into the culinary inspiration of one mom on a mission for “purposeful eating”

(Los Angeles, CA - July 18, 2008) - PURE OF HOLLAND® (www.thepurebar.com), makers of the “next generation” of fruit and nut food bars, has developed a partnership with PROMAX NUTRITIONTM to co-market its Pure BarTM brand. Unlike earlier generations of fruit and nut bars, Pure Bars are certified organic, raw, vegan, unprocessed, and gluten/dairy/soy free. They provide 1 ½ servings of fruit, and contain significant amounts of naturally occurring Omega 3’s, fiber, and protein. Most importantly, they’re delicious! Developed by Veronica Bosgraaf, a mom and former guidance counselor and biology teacher in Holland, Michigan, Pure Bars have skyrocketed since their launch 3 years ago. They are already carried in many Whole Food Markets, natural food stores, and grocery chains like Meijer, Raley’s, and HEB.

Bosgraaf will continue on as founder and head of the Pure Bar brand, leading the effort to educate consumers on “purposeful eating” - conscious nutritional choices people can make that are good for their body and the environment. Bosgraaf created Pure Bar when her 6-year-old daughter decided to become a vegetarian. Bosgraaf’s daughter wouldn’t compromise on taste, and Bosgraaf wouldn’t compromise on nutrition - based on her years as a school guidance counselor observing the connection between good nutrition and a child’s ability to learn. Thus, the Pure Bar recipe is the perfect combination of great taste and great nutrition.

“I had the opportunity to create a super food that would meet so many nutritional needs,” states Bosgraaf. “Since I developed Pure Bar for my children, I wasn’t about to compromise on either health or taste! Interestingly, my kids started sharing Pure Bars with other kids, they shared it with their parents, and before I knew it, retailers started calling me asking for my bars.”

Pure Bar is positioned to grow exponentially, supported by the resources of Promax Nutrition — makers of the #1 selling Promax? Energy Bar. Promax will provide Bosgraaf with the necessary tools and resources to create awareness of the Pure Bar and “purposeful eating”. Today, many consumers are choosing simpler. less processed foods which contain specific health benefits– including organic products. Pure Bar exemplifies this consumer movement.

Though separate brands, Pure and Promax share the common desire to develop products for the “active consumer looking to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.” Promax enthusiastically embraced this partnership based on the company’s commitment to the natural food consumer.

“Bringing Pure Bar into the Promax family is a natural fit, because it reflects our mission of providing consumers with healthy, nutritious, and decidedly delicious products,” states Tim Welch, President of Promax Nutrition. “Veronica Bosgraaf and her Pure Bar brand embody the essence of what Promax consistently tries to achieve.”

Promax has had considerable success in marketing innovative products. The Promax Bar brand has the #1 SKU, amid the hundreds of energy bars it competes with, in many leading grocery, drug, and fitness chains across the country.

Pure of Holland (www.thepurebar.com) is located at 301 Douglas Ave, Holland, Michigan 49424. The phone number for Pure Bar is (888) 568 PURE. Promax Nutrition (promaxstaging.cukerdesign.com) is located at 100 Bayview Circle #505, Newport Beach, CA 92660.

Top Trainers & Nutrition Experts recommend this bar as a smart meal replacement

(Los Angeles, CA - July 18, 2008) - If you Google “diet,” you will be deluged with websites telling you that the best way to lose weight or maintain your weight is to eat five to six small meals a day. However, with a busy life, it’s often impossible to find the time for meals. Sometimes “fast food” — in the form of a really nutritious energy bar — can be the best option. That’s especially true when the bar recommended is one of the top picks by many top trainers and nutrition experts. For over a decade, PROMAX® BARS have been their choice.

“My nutrition plans center around small meals spaced out during the day,” states Sonya Roosendahl, a Beverly Hills celebrity trainer. “A Promax Bar is an ideal alternative to one of those meals when you’re on the run. My clients can’t believe how decadent the flavors taste, yet Promax Bars are low-fat and high protein.”

As people squeeze more activity into their lives, there is clearly less time for meals. Consequently, consumers are increasingly looking for nutrition alternatives, and Promax Bars present one prime solution. Grabbing a Promax Bar — on the way out of the gym, while rushing to the office, or when picking up the kids for carpool — allows consumers to get more done during the day - and they know they’re still getting good nutrition.

At a size that’s 50% larger than most energy bars, Promax Bars contain an impressive 20 grams of high quality protein - that help satisfy you and make this bar a potential meal and not just a snack. Promax Bars also contain essential carbohydrates for energy, plus vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Best of all, Promax Bars are known for their great taste, which is why Promax is and has been the #1 selling energy bar at many major grocery, drugstore, and fitness chains nationwide (www.promaxnutrition.net).

From their introduction, Promax Bars were taste test winners. They are perfect as a meal replacement, a snack, or as a pre or post-workout protein source. Promax Bars are available in 9 delicious flavors:

Black Forest Cake - rich, decadent chocolate cake flavor layered with cherry filling

Chocolate Mint - chocolate surrounding cool, refreshing mint

Chocolate Peanut Crunch - rich milk chocolate and crunchy roasted peanuts

Cookies n’ Cream - tasty bits of chocolate cookies smothered in a moist yogurt coating (a favorite of “Dancing with the Stars’” Samantha Harris!)

Double Fudge Brownie - mouth-watering layers of double-rich chocolate fudge

Honey Peanut - fresh-roasted peanuts and golden honey, all wrapped in a creamy yogurt coating

Nutty Butter Crisp - crispy, peanut-buttery goodness laced with chocolate

Lemon Bar - tangy-sweet lemony refreshment

Chocolate Chip Cookie - delectable chocolaty cookie goodness

Promax Triple Layer Bars are available in 2 flavors:

Caramel Peanut - chunky peanut butter center blanketed by delicious caramel and surrounded by mouth-watering milk chocolate.

Coconut Caramel - shredded coconut core under layers of delicious caramel and enveloped by rich dark chocolate

Promax NutritionTM has also addressed new consumer concerns about High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), by removing the ingredient from its top 3 selling Promax Bars. By using ingredients like crystalline fructose and other sweeteners, the re-formulation doesn’t sacrifice great taste and rich texture. The new Non-HFCS Promax Bars are available in Promax’s Cookies ‘n Cream, Double Fudge Brownie, and Chocolate Peanut Crunch bars.

The Promax Bar brand exemplifies the strong heritage of Promax Nutrition in making indulgent, dessert-quality products packed with protein and other nutrients. Consumers had long been searching for a tasty protein bar and Promax Nutrition filled that need. The small, but powerful company has been developing innovative nutrition and health solutions since 1996, and, last year, expanded into delicious, high protein, ready-to-drink shakes. It also launched a line of convenient, taste-free, powdered nutritional supplements that mix into most beverages. Promax products are a staple at many gyms and fitness centers around the country.

Promax Nutrition recently developed new Promax 70 Calorie Bars, the first high-protein, all-natural “snack-size” energy bar. At just 70 calories per bar, these bars are ideal when you’re hungry but don’t want to spoil your lunch or dinner, when you’re dieting (only 2 Weight Watchers® points), or when you’re looking for healthy snacks for the kids. Luscious and chocolaty, each Promax 70 Calorie flavor delivers 5 grams of quality protein.

Fast food has never been smarter or healthier… and we’re not talking about the kind you get at any place bearing golden arches

GET THE MAX OUT OF YOUR ENERGY BAR - Energy bars, like Promax® Bars have long been a favorite meal-on-the-go for trainers and athletes alike. Available in rich, amazing flavors - some now without high fructose corn syrup - Promax Bars will give you a big 20 gram blast of protein, along with all the vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants you need to keep moving during the day.

THE BIG FREEZE - On Sunday Night, turn on the tube, pull out some pots and pans, light up the stove and cook a few easy dishes - grilled chicken, tuna salad, stir fry with tofu. Then, put everything in the fridge for easy access throughout the week.

CONTAIN YOURSELF - Satisfy your hunger and your desire to go “green” by packing up easy eats in Tupperware. Almonds and raisins in one… Carrots and hummus in another… Pita and cheese in another… Store them anywhere for snacks anytime.

UNDER WRAPS - Low-fat wraps, such as the yummy ones by La Tortilla Factory, are efficient and excellent options for getting all your nutrition “rolled up” in one place.

TOP IT OFF - Get your protein and calcium with some rich, creamy Fage yogurt and top it with your carbs and fruit - chopped apples, raisins, or granola. LET-TUCE DO LUNCH - A bag of pre-washed and torn lettuce or spinach can go a long way. All you need is a can of water-packed tuna, like Bumble Bee or some sliced Hormel turkey breast from the grocery deli, a little oil and vinegar and you have a speed-demon salad.

IN THE DOG HOUSE - Waste not, want not. Your significant other’s half a turkey burger from last night’s dinner is today’s lunch!

SHAKE IT UP - Your blender is the key to quick meals… Milk, protein powder, bananas, berries and a little honey and you’ve got yourself a smoothie. Or, even simpler, grab a Promax Ready-to-Drink Protein Shake in one of the decadent, delicious flavors.

FOILED AGAIN! - Foil-wrapped recipes are the mess-free way to cook. Spray tin foil with non-stick spray, like Mazola, drop in a skinless, boneless chicken breast, top with teriyaki sauce or herbs and spices, and then stick it in the oven.
